why i cant add pc with win vista to domain?

We tried it some time ago, and you could do it with earlier builds in Windows Server 2003 R2, but I guess you'll have to properly wait until Longhorn Server is released for functionality to be restored :o)

You can add it to Domain, but its a bit different in Vista, you don't get the list box to select your domain or do a local log on. The layout is DOMAIN/Username.
You
can join a domain by Clicking Start > Control Panel > Computer Name > click Change > select Domain and type in your domain name, click OK. Restart and you should be able to log in. Don't use Network ID, I had bad results connecting to my domain with that. -- -- Andre Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta FAQ for MS AntiSpy http://www.geocities.com/marfer_mvp/FAQ_MSantispy.htm "Hubert" wrote in message

Hello, Hubert, I found that on my system, I had to disable the Windows firewall while joining a domain. You can then turn it on again without a problem. I'm confident this will be fixed in later releases. IHTH, -- Jack R

Not necessarily the Firewall, but UAP can be a possible hazard. -- Andre Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta FAQ for MS AntiSpy http://www.geocities.com/marfer_mvp/FAQ_MSantispy.htm

Sorry, I should have mentioned that we did this during the R2 beta, so we were still stuck on 5112 :o$

I have, with no issues, just did it through control panel after the setup.
What problems are you having?
